Tardis New Vacuum Tankers Set To Arrive This Month – April 2014.

Septic Tank Emptying With Euro 5

Vacuum Tanker

2 x brand new Euro 5 Vacuum tankers are coming at the end of April 2014. These two new vacuum tankers are part of our growing effort to lower our carbon footprint and help protect the environment. The two new tankers will be fully chapter 8 approved and accredited. The tankers will also be Crossrail complaint. Crossrail compliant vehicles must have the following equipment to be allowed on to a Crossrail construction site.

  • All HGVs must have Fresnel lenses
  • Side scan equipment which will give of an audible beep in the driver’s cabin. This is to warn the driver of the HGV that there is an object or person on the left inside space.
  • Side and Rear Cameras, with a TV monitor in the cabin
  • Under-run guards must also be fitted. This is to help prevent cyclists from coming into contact with the HGVs wheels.
  • Carry signs must also be fitted to warn cyclists and pedestrians.

We are eager to start operating our new machines allow us to cope with the growing economy and ensure we can meet our client’s needs.

Both tankers are Euro 5, which means that the emissions they produce are almost as clean as the surrounding air and won’t damage the environment. This helps us lower our carbon footprint.

Vacuum Tankers Capabilities

Our Tardis Vacuum tankers can provide services such as septic tank emptying, welfare waste tank emptying, drain vacuuming unblocking and much more. All our vacuum tankers will carry 40 meters of suction hose (More can be requested).  For awkward access waste tanks and septic tanks our mobile vacuum tanker will be the ideal choice. This is a towable vacuum tank towed by a Tardis Landrover; its small size and off road capabilities makes a great alternative to heavy goods vehicles vacuum tankers.

All the drivers we provide are fully trained in the equipment they use. If require our drivers to deliver clean fresh water then our EUSR trained and accredited in water hygiene drivers will deliver clean fresh water.

Flood Warning!

Need a Fast Response to Flooding!

If you’re in a high-risk flood area, then Tardis Environmental can help weather you’re a domestic or construction customer.

The met office has issued out warnings and alerts for known areas that are at risk of flooding. So what can we do to help prevent or even minimize damage caused by flooding?

We have a large fleet of vacuum tankers that can take large amounts of wet wastewater to help alleviate possible damage caused be flooding. Some of our tankers can also have a high vol jet vac that can clean your drains from leafs and debris that may slow the rate the floodwater gets drained.

Tardis Environmental also has industrial water pumps that can move the wastewater from a flooded area to a drain or river that is not flooded.

The WX10 and WH20 water pumps are useful for small jobs like filling small water tanks and increasing water pressure.

The WB20 and WB30 are great for moving large amounts of water with small debris within the water.

Now the WT20 is probably the best bet to move waste water as it can handle large amounts of water and large sized debris up to 24mm.

If you need any help in a bad situation then give our team a call today and see how we can help you. Freephone 0800 731 0589.

Custom Waste Tanks

Fabricated Waste Tank to Suit You

Did you know that Tardis Environmental can fabricate a waste tank to suit you and your site needs. As we are able to fabricate our own waste tanks, we are able to build waste tanks to different shapes and sizes.

Custom Waste Tank

We have a current project where we were asked to fabricate two large waste tanks that needed to hold approx. 17,000 litres each. We were also instructed to add some special features like a digital overflow alarm system that would let you know when the tank is nearing its capacity.

The two waste tanks will also be connected by a 6” waste pipe so when the first tank is full it will then begin to fill the second tank. Two submersible pumps will help fill the second waste tank.

Pipe Connections

Vent Waste Tank

Both waste tanks will have two 1” vents. The tanks will also be fitted with a safety hatch due to the massive size of the waste tanks.

We also have pre-made waste tanks for hire, ranges include tanks with the capacity to hold 50 litres, 500 litres, 1,000 and 1,500 litres other sizes are available upon request.

Call our friendly hire desk team who will assist you further on the hire or purchase of our waste tanks or just give them a call for more information. Freephone 0800 731 0589

Septic tanks and Tankers

Septic tank and the types of waste a Vacuum tanker can take!

When you have a full waste tank or septic tank you will need to have a septic tank emptying service or waste removal service. Septic tanks normally have sewage or waste water inside them with minimal debris. This waste can be collected by a vacuum tanker, which is only designed to handle wet waste with minimum debris.

If you find that waste tank you have has more solid to liquid then you will need what is called a disab tanker. These tankers are specially designed to be able to handle dry waste, with their greater suction ability. They are also known as liquid ring tankers.

Septic Tank Emptying

How do you know if you need a vacuum tanker or a disab tanker?

First thing is to check the waste that is located within the septic tank. If there is a lot of liquid and it moves round like normal water, then you will probably need a normal vacuum tanker. If you find that the waste within the septic tank is very dry and solid (like wet sand) then you will probably need a disab tanker.  It is important to try and establish this before you ask for a normal septic tank emptying service as you will get charged for the wrong tanker.

You can get tanks that help separate the water from the solid debris into different layers. These are normally called silt tanks. They work by allowing the grit and sand to settle at the bottom of the tank which then allows the water to sit on top for easy suction and emptying.

If you are still not sure about the septic tank waste then you can request a call out service, this is where we will send out our experts who will check the waste and will be able to give you an accurate estimate on what tanker you will need to perform the service.

Tardis Environmental can provide both services nationwide. Call today and speak to our highly trained hire desk team who will help you get the right service for you.

Is your septic tank over flowing?

Need a Septic tank emptying service!

When summer finally arrives it’s important to get your tank emptied. So why would you have your tank emptied in the summer. There are a couple of reasons why you would have your septic tank emptied in the summer. First reason would be if you have a full septic tank filled with sewage and waste water the hot of the day will make the wet waste within the tank start to stink and could give of dangerous gas, also tend to use the toilet a lot more in the summer as you are drinking more liquids.

If you’re going to have a party and have a septic tank connected to your house, then it would be wise to have a tank emptying service before the party begins as the increased volume in wet waste could cause your septic tank to over flow in not emptied before the party.

So if you need a professional septic tank emptying service then give our hire desk team a call today. Need more information on all the services we can provide you.

Confined Space Information

Does your Septic tank need a confined crew?

What size is a confined space?

A confined space does not have to be a small space which is hard to enter and exit for it to be classed as a confined space.it can also be a large silo or tank that has limited or restricted access or if the space is badly ventilated like a large tunnel. The CSR (Confined Space Regulations) 1997 describes confined space as any place. This will include chambers, vat, silos, sewer, well and any other  confined spaces that has a foreseeable risk.

These are as follows:

  • Drowning of any person at work
  • Loss of consciousness of any person arising from a high ambient temperature.
  • Fire or explosion
  • Loss of consciousness or asphyxiation of any person at work arising from gas, fumes, vapour or lack of oxygen
  • Asphyxiation of any person at work arising from a free flowing solid

What Is P.P.E?

P.P.E is short for Personal protective equipment.

What are the types of personal protective equipment?

  • Respirators
  • Protective gloves
  • Protective clothing
  • Protective footwear
  • Eye protection
Equipment for confined space

How do you check if you have the correct P.P.E on?

First you must check the following, Does if fit correctly, are you comfortable, will the P.P.E interfere with the job that is being done, is there any health risk like entanglement with machinery or overheating of equipment.

Tardis will ensure that when a confined space entry is required it is supervised by at least one man. All Drivers will have all the necessary P.P.E equipment. All other equipment including breathing apparatus, ropes, harnesses, winches, carabineers and fall/rescue equipment will always checked before use.

So no matter if it’s a septic tank or a massive silo you can be sure that Tardis Environmental will get the job done.

Tardis Tankers Does Dancing on Ice

Our Vacuum Tanker Sucks Ice Rink Away

So now that ITV’s Dancing on ice is over you are probably thinking, what happens to the stage and ice rink!

Well the studios stay where they are but the Ice rink will have to be sucked away. This year Tardis Environmental has been asked by ITV to empty the ice rink with our Vacuum tankers. Our tankers took approximately 6000 gallons of waste water. Tardis Environmental will then dispose of the waste water at our nearest water treatment plant.

Here are some facts about Dancing on Ice studios!

The show has mainly been based at the George Lucas Stage at Elstree studios when it began back in 2006, but in 2011, the show was broadcast from shepperton studios. Dancing on Ice eventually moved back to Elstree Studios, but with a new modern studio.

The size of the Ice rink itself is a massive 30m x 15m. There are also different areas to the studio, the most known one is the tunnel were the Stars come out to dance on the ice. Then you have an area called The Ice Cave, this is where Philip does his interviews after each dance and finally you have the Judges and Contestant area (this is also where Christine stands to speak to the couples).

If you have a large volume of waste water non-hazardous or hazardous give Tardis a call on 0800 731 0589. We have over 15 years’ experience in dealing with wet waste and have a highly modern fleet of vacuum tankers with all the latest safety equipment not to mention all the drivers are highly trained with constant training all year round. This is to ensure we are always ahead of the competition  We have been awarded FORS bronze and our drivers are EUSR Trained in water hygiene.

Septic tanks Beware

Septic Tanks Beware there’s a new Tractor Unit About

Septic Tank Emptying

Tardis Environmental has just taken delivery of a new tractor unit. Our new Tractor unit is due to be Tardisifide with the company’s logo and paint scheme of yellow, green and red. When our tractor unit comes back from its Tardis makeover it will then go to our Mechanics bay to unsure the tractor unit is road worthy.

What will the new Tractor Unit do?

The new tractor unit will be able to deliver our H2O Bulk Water tanks ranging from 4000-6000 Gallons of fresh water. The water can be used for soakaway tests, bulk water storage and clean water for a large welfare unit, where a mains water supply isn’t available.

6000 Gallons Bulk Water Tank Trailer

When not delivering our H2O tanks it can then are used as a 6000 gallon vacuum tanker. The Vacuum tank trailer has the capacity to carry 6000 gallons of wet waste with a suction depth of approx. 6 metres. This means it can suck up wet waste from a septic tank easy. Most domestic septic tanks can only hold 1000 Gallons of wet waste but some industrial septic tanks can hold much more than a 1000 gallons. But with our 6000 Gallons septic tank emptying fleet, Tardis Environmental can make short work of any size septic tank.

New/Old Septic Tankers

Septic tank Emptying Tanker in with the new and out with the old!!!

Normal When a Vehicle Starts Braking down and the Repair bills are now worth more than the actual vehicle; you tend to start looking for a new vehicle and scrap the old vehicle for as much money as possible.

Here at Tardis Environmental we believe in recycling everything we can. Even paper, we turn it round and print on the other side. So when one of our Septic tank emptying tankers has reached the point where it becomes too costly to repair, we don’t just send it off to the scrap heap, we try and salvage as much as possible.

Here is a perfect example of a Tardis Environmental tanker having a tank from an old tanker being placed onto one of our new Scania chassis.

Tardis is also looking in to getting solar panels installed at their head office. This is all part of Tardis lowering its Carbon Footprint and protecting the environment the best way we know how.

We have also been awarded Bronze FORS, check out our website for more details.

Need a Septic tank emptying service? We have depots placed all around the UK, so we can provide the best coverage at low low cost.

Cesspool or Septic Tank?

What the difference between a Cesspool and Septic tank?

Well to tell the truth there’s not a lot  of difference between a cesspit/cesspool or septic tank. They both hold sewage or wet waste and both need to be emptied on a regular basis.

The only difference is a septic tank is buried under ground and sealed by a hatch and slowly separates the waste water into three layers and then release the waste water layer through some perforated pipes that will then soak into the groundwater level.

A Cesspit or Cesspool is basically made from loose brick or stone, which is dug into the ground, the normal size of a cesspool is around 1 metre in diameter and approximately 2-3 metres deep. They would also leak waste water back into the groundwater. Back in the 16th century cesspits were cleaned only at night to avoid annoying the public with the smell.

This is why septic tanks are mainly used for domestic and commercial wet waste.

Here at Tardis Environmental we can empty both Cesspit/Cesspool and Septic tanks, with our vacuum tanker fleet and highly trained tanker drivers. With Nationwide Coverage and a 24hr Emergency callout you can be sure that Tardis will get the job done.
