Get your numbers right!
Make sure you have the right amount of toilets to keep your guests happy, you don’t want them having a little accident or heading towards the bushes to “relieve” themselves! We will be able to assist you with making sure this doesn’t happen as we have over a decade of experience providing portable toilets at events.
Got enough space?
You may have an idea where you want your portable toilets to go, however you need to make sure you have the space to fit the number you require in that specific spot. Also as the toilets will be delivered and aren’t the easiest things to move around you need to make sure the spot is accessible for delivery vehicles.
Keep them safe!
Once the toilets have been dropped off and the driver has left they are your responsibility. Any repairs or event replacement of the toilet will be paid for by you.
Event portable toilet hire prices can range quite abit, at Tardis our prices are competitive and our toilets are top quality! So you won’t be going wrong having them off us.
Keep them fresh and clean (as best you can)
Keeping your toilets hygienic isn’t the easiest thing to do, especially at big festivals where thousands of people use them every day, add abit of alcohol and you may get the odd trouble maker.
Never the less having your toilets serviced is a must! One, they will overflow if you don’t and two, it will keep your guests happy! No one likes dirty smelly toilets.
Now this won’t stop them getting full up again and it’s up to you how many services you decide to have, most just go with the one service mid-way through the event.
If you have any other questions please feel free to contact us and ask!
Ever thought portable toilets could be classed as art? Banksy did! The well-known graffiti artist has thought it for a while now!
Way back in 2007 he decided to replicate stone henge with portable toilets at Glastonbury.
The artist had this to say: “A lot of monuments are a bit rubbish,” he says “but this really is a pile of crap.”
Tardis Environmental has provided festival portable toilet hire for many years now, though never quite like this!
Giant Olympic rings have become the crowning glory on Tower Bridge to mark the 30 day countdown to the London 2012 Games.
London 2012 chairman Lord Coe and Mayor Boris Johnson were among the VIPs who watched as the rings were lowered into place on the central London landmark on the River Thames.
Boris Johnson said: “With just a month to go, we are making our final preparations and want to ensure each and every person in the capital gets a flavour of the celebrations and feels part of the Games.”
One thing that should definitely not be overlooked is the provision of portable toilets. If you are having an Olympic event and are expecting a large crowd you may need to hire portable toilets to keep them happy and not overcrowding the toilet in your house. Alternatively if you need portable toilets in London for Olympic events make sure you contact Tardis as we can provide a range of portable toilets for all types of events.
The Irish government is warning home owners who have to use septic tank systems to regularly empty their tanks of face hefty fines.
Close to half a million houses in the country have to have their own septic tank and the government is planning put in place fines and inspections.
Environment Minister Phil Hogan is warning that if households fail to empty their tank regularly they will be fined €5,000. That’s quite abit of money! Households who have to us septic tanks should already be aware of the importance of having their tank regularly emptied, and for those who don’t this should definitely put it in their heads now!
Phil Hogan also added that there’s nothing to worry about: “If a septic tank or similar system is being operated and maintained properly, no action will be necessary. Unless there is evidence of endangerment of human health or the environment, the system in place, irrespective of its age or type, will pass inspection.”
Maintaining your septic tank is of vital importance, Tardis Environmental has a large fleet of tankers which can empty your septic tank and keep it in good working order.
If you are a hygienic person the idea of seating on a portable toilet seat may be a complete no go. You may have your own ways of overcoming this obstacle however I don’t think it will be the same way Jennifer Lopez goes about it!
In 2003 her then boyfriend Ben Affleck allegedly had a personal toilet seat built for the star, which she could carry around on tour with her ensuring her prized possession was clept safe.
The toilet seat cost him $105,000, it is encrusted with rubies, diamonds, sapphires and pearls!
Couldn’t imagine dragging one of them around at a festival though could you?
Our toilets may not have gem encrusted toilet seats but they are the ideal solution for tempory sanitation services at events such as fesitvals.
If you need portable toilet hire be sure to contact Tardis!
It has been well documented about the year Glastonbury is taking off with speculation surrounding the reasons why.
One of the rumours to as why the festival is not going ahead is the lack of portable toilets available due to the Olympics and the increase in costs that comes with it, this has also been rumoured to have caused other festivals to take a year off.
However next year with availability of portable toilet hire returning to normal we can expect to see the festivals returning, Glastonbury being one of them.
Glastonbury attracts 175,000 fans over five days on average; tickets for next year are to go on sale in October.
No headliners have been announced for 2013 but festival organisers have said that “they have already been chosen”

LONG AN – A team of Australian and Vietnamese archaeologists last week unearthed a 3,500 year old man-made toilet believed to be the earliest such device in Southern Viet Nam.
The toilet was excavated about 30 km from HCM City at Rach Nui, Long An Province. It consists of a 5m in height man-made mound, surrounded by small tidal streams and mangrove swamps.
Now this may not be as exciting as finding a dinosaur but you still have to be impressed with this! Imagine the world that long ago you wouldn’t think they would have anything to take care of their business but there you go.
This newly found ancient toilet could have been a technological breakthrough at the time. Nowadays toilets are taken for granted and event portable toilets are undervalued in society. If you need portable toilet hire be sure to contact Tardis!
A woman in Monticello, Kentucky had to be freed by paramedics after being stuck to a supermarket toilet seat for nearly an hour.
It was later found that the seat which the woman had been stuck on was coated in super glue. (According to ABC Action News)
The Elkton police department stated that applying super glue on a toilet is considered a crime and that the person responsible could face assault charges. Police are investigating the incident.

If you are lucky enough to own a septic tank you should know that ensuring it is it efficient working order should be one of your top priorities. Having your septic tank emptied on a regular basis is one way to do this and it is recommended that you have your septic tank emptied on a regular basis to ensure it is doing its job and to extend the life of the tank.
There are many reasons why you should have your septic tank emptied regularly, one of which Is for health reasons. Human waste and other wastes are very dangerous to health if they are not contained and disposed of correctly. They are also very damaging to the environment and can destroy the local wildlife’s habitats. Ensuring your tank is regularly emptied will avoid this worst case scenario.
Also the less you have your septic tank emptied will mean the more times it is at full capacity and the less efficient it will work, which can cause leaks and damages to your tank meaning you will have to pay for it to be repaired which is not cheap, or buy another altogether which is definitely not cheap. Having your tank emptied may seem like a lot of money but it is a lot less than having to buy a new tank altogether. The correct and proper maintenance of your septic tank is of fundamental importance to you and your surroundings.
Over time your tank will accumulate a lot of waste and if this is not taken care of waste could leak out of the tank; this can also cause a back log of waste in the pipes which could result in a whole septic system failure meaning you will have to pay a lot to replace it. The only way to stop this is regular septic tank emptying.
Tardis Environmental specialises in wet waste removal and has vast experience in emptying septic tanks. Once we empty your tank we can offer you a weekly empty or schedule a regular empty so you don’t have to worry about consistently having to organise it yourself. Therefore ensuring the survival of your septic tank and increasing its useful life.
