Every now and again, we’ll post a recap of some of our recent posts incase you haven’t seen them yet:
And if there’s anything you’d like to see on the blog, do let us know!
The London 2012 Olympics are on everyone’s lips at the moment for good or bad reasons; it’s the thing everyone is talking about and is definitely an event to look forward too.
Now whether you think the Olympics are important or not, you cannot argue that the construction and engineering aspects of the various venues combined with the regeneration and transformation of areas in London are outstanding, and worthy of such an illustrious event.
Construction started way back in May 2008 and now with only 149 days to go until the Olympics well and truly kick off most of the constructions are nearing completion; Tardis have been involved right from the start at various sites such as, the Athletes Village, North Plaza, Finsbury Park and the BTS Hotel to name a few. Whilst working here we have been providing our excellent services such as, tank emptying, Water fills, bowser hire, high pressure water jetting, tank hire, and hazardous waste removal.
When the start of the Olympics finally comes around Tardis can take pride in the fact we helped with the construction, and will continue providing our services during the event aiding its smooth running.
From everyone at the Tardis team we would like to wish the best of luck to all of Team GB and our Olympic hopefuls.

We at Tardis are very excited to be helping out with the Crossrail project. Who wouldn’t be if you were helping with the biggest engineering project in Europe? Each Crossrail train will be around 200 metres long and be able to hold up to 1,500 passengers, this means that around 200 million passengers will travel on Crossrail each year!
Whilst working on the cross rail project Tardis have provided Tank Emptying services using our large fleet of vacuum tankers, Portable toilet hire (if you read the last blog you know how important that is!), high power water jetting and welfare servicing.
Working on such a project does come with ever changing demands however, and we are not ones to disappoint our customers or shy away from commitments! Recently Crossrail have upgraded all their requirements for HGV’s. These Requirements are things such as Fresnel lenses, side scan equipment, Under-run guards and vehicles must also carry signs to warn cyclists and pedestrians. We have made sure that all our vehicles working on the cross rail project are up to date with these requirements, and that our drivers are fully aware of their responsibilities.
More than 2,000 drivers have now completed the Crossrail Lorry Driver Induction training programme which has been developed in consultation with cycling and road safety campaign groups and the construction industry. All our drivers in London are fully aware and committed to maintaining the standards set by Crossrail. Everyone at Tardis looks forward to its successful completion and is proud to be part of a historic engineering project.
Waking up at the early light of day to arrive at his job on time, after picking up their mate and getting stuck in traffic, getting ready for whatever challenges they may face in the day that lies ahead, the builder knows one thing. He will always be able to get a cup of tea or coffee.
Think about it, if you’re having work done on your house you know before they even arrive that you will offer them a brew, maybe even before you say hello! Before they arrive you will check the cupboards to see if you have enough tea bags or coffee, check the milk in the fridge because you know that this simple gesture will make them feel at home and give them the kick they need, as a good cuppa always does.
It’s the same at big construction sites, the average Briton drinks 3 and a half cups of tea a day, who knows how many the average builder drinks, my guess would be more! Now with all this fluid consumption the builder will eventually need to go to the little boy’s room, knowing that his construction site has adequate on site toilet facilities means he doesn’t even have to worry, allowing him to fully focus on his job at hand and drink as many mugs of tea or coffee as he wants. Think about it, a construction site without portable toilets? MADNESS! Plus the fact it’s a legal requirement.
At Tardis we have been providing portable toilets to building and constructions firms large and small for the past decade across the UK. Making sure builders have peace of mind and that the tea and coffee can keep flowing, keeping them going.

Many business use interceptors however not many people know what they actually are or do. Interceptors are found underground most commonly at Petrol stations, Pubs, Schools, and car parks as well as other various places. Interceptors stop effluent and run-off from vehicles and cleaning activities, these run-offs if uncaught can damage the environment and pollute rivers and streams.
Imagine a car is leaking oil on a car park and it starts to rain, with the drains doing their jobs it’s up to the interceptor to successfully trap the oil in the water and store it, protecting the environment and the businesses reputation.
Dirty water or run-off from vehicle washing and cleaning activity is called trade effluent. Whether you’re cleaning just one vehicle or responsible for a large lorry fleet, you must arrange for collection and disposal of effluent to prevent pollution. It’s illegal to discharge trade effluent to the environment or into drains without permission.
Our fleet of vacuum tankers are able to service these applications when required. We are a full licensed waste carrier and have disposal sites throughout the UK to dispose this waste safely for our clients. A full duty of care is available on request. Tardis Environmental UK is now recognised as one of the major service providers to the septic tank manufactures and other waste water industry companies. Our excellent service and competitive septic tank emptying rates have resulted in several years repeat business and a fantastic reputation.

Saint Patrick’s Day is fast approaching and whether you like Guinness or not you may well be going to or even holding an event for this much loved day.
Now if you’re holding an event you may be busy inviting people and arranging the whole thing, worrying about how drunk everyone will get how they will wreck the house and break your beloved ornaments which I’m sure they won’t, their all sensible adults.
Well why not take a load of your mind, and rent a portable toilet that you can stick in your garden and make the intoxicated people go outside instead of upstairs or around your house without supervision.
After all if you or your guests are drinking a lot (not judging) on Saint Patrick’s Day, you may find you also tend to have more trips to the bathroom!
Often providing sufficient toilet services is a last minute after thought, so why not make sure you have sufficient toilet facilities, book your hire of chemical portable toilets with Tardis and you will be able to take advantage of our hire expertise to make sure your guests are not queuing for the loo, keeping them happy and not desperate for that one toilet you have upstairs!

We are pleased to announce that we have recently acquired a new storage and distribution depot at Tyne Road, Sandy in Bedfordshire to compliment our existing network of depots nationwide.
This now takes our current total number of depots up to six, and we have plans to open more in the near future.
