Information on Soakaway test

In April 2002 a surface water soakaway design was introduced, this was to ensure that storm water soaks away effective.

Don’t think you need a soakaway! Building Regulation H3 Says,

‘The requirements of H3 will be met if rainwater soaking into the ground is distributed sufficiently so that it does not damage foundations of the proposed building or any adjacent structures’.

The H3 Regulation guidance note outlines suitable arrangements for domestic type soakaways only, and it should not be taken as a definitive guide. For more detailed guidance refer to the aforementioned document.

So what is the function of a soakaway?

A Soakaway must be able to immediately store storm-water or heavy rain to runoff and allow the water’s efficient infiltration into the adjacent soil. The time it takes for the water to soakaway will determine the size of the soakaway required.

This is where our Towable Bowser or bulk water H2O Tankers can help in hot conditions like summer where rain might not come for a few weeks (This is Britain but even we have sunny spells). We can supply Clean Water (None Drinking) from 500 all the way up to 6,000 gallons.
